One time of year i always love to wait for is the summer, why? Because this is the time to get my Surfboarding gear out and time to surf. One of the most important parts of the gear is board shorts, (except the board of course!) well unless you plan to surf in your underwear?! But im pretty sure you will get some looks.

There are other parts of gear you need to have to surf but this site is all about boards shorts, more to the point Mens Board shorts. What to look out for and where to get them cheap.

Mens Board Shorts

Obviously there are tons and tons of different styles of Mens board shorts, the colours and shape is generally down to personal preference. Sometimes the wife might have a say, but really its up to you. At the end of the day you are the person that has to wear them and feel comfortable in them. So choose what you like….

Generally speaking Board shorts are very brightly coloured, with summery patterns. This is of course to match the type of weather you will be surfing in. If you surf in the winter, surf in doom and gloom colours, lol. No im kidding, Board shorts can also bee used in the winter, all though they are called Board shorts, they are generally used to go swimming in. So choosing the right pair of shorts for you is just the same as any other item of clothing. If you dont feel good wearing it, then im pretty sure others wont like it on you.

These particular type of shorts start at the waste and normally finish at your knees, some are shorter, some are longer. You can get some three quater length board shorts if you feel comfortable wearing them?

Mens board shorts are designed to be very quick drying, so that when you leave the water you skin doesnt rub against the material as much as normal clothing, to avoid any chaffing. They are generally made from Polyester and Nylon. Mens Board shorts are durable and do not wear very easily from contact from a surf board. Mens Board shorts are very comfortable and a light. They do not absorb to much water making them stay light while wet.
